For a long time, I did everything “right” with money.

I worked hard, earned a stable income, budgeted carefully, and saved consistently. On paper, things looked fine — but in reality, I still felt uncertain about my finances. Decisions felt heavier than they should. Cash felt tighter than expected. And despite being disciplined, I didn’t always feel in control.

That experience taught me something important: money stress isn’t always a spending problem — it’s often a clarity problem.

My background

I emigrated from Peru to Canada in 2006 with very little and no clear path. Over the years, I built a career in accounting and finance, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and completing graduate accounting studies at McGill University in Montreal. I spent more than 18 years working in accounting and finance roles across different industries in Peru and Canada.

Along the way, I learned how to save, invest, and grow wealth responsibly. I reached major financial milestones — including building a strong net worth and eventually stepping away from the traditional 9-to-5 — but what mattered most wasn’t the milestones themselves.

What truly changed everything was learning how to see my money clearly:

  • understanding timing

  • understanding commitments

  • understanding what cash was actually available

  • making decisions with confidence instead of guesswork

Why I created Your Wealth Compass

Most personal finance content focuses on motivation, extreme frugality, or complex investing strategies. That helps at the beginning — but it often fails people who already earn money and still feel unsure.

Your Wealth Compass exists for a different reason.

I help mid-earners move from cash confusion to confident decisions by focusing on:

  • clarity over complexity

  • understanding cash flow instead of tracking everything

  • decision-making instead of perfection

This is why I build practical guides and diagnostic tools — not hype, not shortcuts — designed to show you what’s really happening with your money.

Who this is for

If you:

  • earn a decent income

  • understand basic budgeting

  • but still feel uncertain about your cash or decisions

You’re in the right place.

If you’re just starting out, you’ll still find helpful content here. But my primary focus is helping people who want clarity — not motivation.

A bit more about me

Outside of finance, I enjoy playing the saxophone, experimenting in the kitchen, traveling when possible, and reading about personal development. I live in Ontario, Canada with my family and our two cats, and yes — I’m still addicted to Tim Hortons coffee.
